Marc R. Rosenblum is Associate Professor of Political Science, specializing in US immigration policy and US-Latin American relations.
 
Dr. Rosenblum is the author of The Transnational Politics of US Immigration Policy (University of California, San Diego Center for Comparative Immigration Studies, 2004) and has also published over 20 academic journal articles, book chapters, and policy briefs on immigration, immigration policy, and US-Latin American relations. His book Defining Migration: America's Great Debate and the History of US Immigration Policy analyzes US immigration policy since the Civil War, with a focus on the post-IRCA and post-9/11 periods (forthcoming, 2010); and he is the coeditor (with Daniel Tichenor) of The Oxford Handbook of International Migration (Oxford University Press, forthcoming 2010).
 
Dr. Rosenblum earned his B.A. from Columbia University and his Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego. He was a Council on Foreign Relations Fellow detailed to the office of US Sen. Edward Kennedy during the 2006 Senate immigration debate, and was involved in crafting the Senate's immigration legislation in 2006 and 2007. He also served as a member of President-Elect Obama's Immigration Policy Transition Team in 2009. He is currently on leave and serving as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Migration Policy Institute in Washington, DC.
