Areas of Specialization: Public Law, Public Administration, Trial Courts, Drug Courts, and Specialized Courts

Dr. Shomade received his PhD from the University of Arizona in 2007. His dissertation, "Case Study of the Structures of Criminal and Drug Courts," focuses on the management of criminal and drug courts. His works have appeared in Michigan State Law Review, The Encyclopedia of the First Amendment, Encyclopedia of American Civil Liberties, and Encyclopedia of the Supreme Court.

Prior to his doctoral studies, Dr. Shomade practiced law for several years at various major law firms across the country. He earned his law degree from the University of Virginia and is a member of the New York, Texas, Georgia, District of Columbia, and Arizona State Bars.

Dr. Shomade's current research interests include criminal courts, civil courts, drug courts, specialized courts, and higher education management.
