Areas of specialization: Public Administration and Public Policy, Electoral Policy and Administration, American Government

Dr. Montjoy came to UNO in 2004 from Auburn University, where he had served as a professor and administrator. He is active in all three mission areas of teaching, research, and outreach and he has received professional awards in each of them. His academic research has appeared in books and in a variety of journals including Public Administration Review, Policy Studies Review, Publius, and Public Opinion Quarterly. He has also been responsible for over $5 million in applied research and outreach for public agencies, as well as reports published by public organizations such as the Federal Election Commission and the National Association of Counties. Dr. Montjoy served on the Government Effectiveness Committee of the Bring New Orleans Back Commission. He is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Election Center, the largest organization of election officials in the United States and a past member of the National Advisory Board for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program of the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
