Marc R. Rosenblum is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of New Orleans. His research interests include immigration and US immigration policymaking, U.S.-Latin American relations, and Latin American politics; and he also teaches courses in comparative politics and political research methods. He received his PhD at the University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Rosenblum’s book, The Transnational Politics of US Immigration Policy was published in 2004 by the University of California-San Diego Center for Comparative Immigration Studies; and he has published articles in numerous academic journals, including Latin American Politics and Society, the Journal of Peace Research, Political Power and Social Theory, Comparative Political Studies, Human Rights Review, and the Annual Review of Political Science. He is currently completing a book on immigration and the US national interest.

Dr. Rosenblum has received several awards for his research, including the Quon Prize awarded by the U.C. San Diego Department of Political Science for the dissertation most likely to make a contribution to the discipline (2000), a university-wide University of New Orleans Early Career Achievement Award (2005), and a Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellowship (2005). He spent the fall of 2005 as a visiting fellow at the Migration Policy Institute, and the spring of 2006 working as a counsel to Senator Edward Kennedy during the Senate’s immigration debate.
